TD Toronto Jazz Festival is set to take over Toronto once again this summer June 23 to July 2nd!
Taking place in Toronto’s popular Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood, the festival will host over 100 live performances across 10 days of free outdoor programming, and a selection of ticketed concerts featuring homegrown and world-renowned talent.
The fest’s opening weekend begins with a street takeover on Queen’s Park June 24 and 25, featuring free performances from Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Ashanti, local heroes BADBADNOTGOOD, rising rhythm and blues power LOONY and internationally recognized MC Haviah Mighty.
Jazz legends playing ticketed shows that you’ll want to snatch stubs for include legendary genre explorer Herbie Hancock, soulful six-stringer George Benson, returning fan-favourites like Snarky Puppy, Melody Gardot and Avishai Cohen Trio, and the festival debut of Afro-Cuban rockstar Cimafunk.
Notables also revealed to be playing the 2023 TD Toronto Jazz Festival include Colin Stetson, Tanika Charles, Jully Black, Montreal pianist Anomalie and his 16-piece “Big Band,” Brad Mehldau Trio, Braxton Cook, and KOKOROKO.
“The TD Toronto Jazz Festival has always been a celebration of the diversity and richness of jazz and jazz-related music, so we’re especially excited about this year’s lineup,” festival artistic director Josh Grossman shared in a statement. “We invite music fans from at home and abroad to join us and experience some of the best musicians from Toronto, across Canada and around the world.”
